Fishing: Enjoy the tranquility of the lakes through the seasons; originally created as the centrepiece of the estate. The lower lake is reserved for fly fishing and the upper lake for bait fishing and both are well stocked with rainbow trout and are home to a variety of waterfowl. There is full access to the water and a cascade links the lakes and channels the water back into the River Deen. Permits cost €15 per person for four hours angling, which allows for two fish to be taken away. Family of 2+2 €50 or 2+3 €55 Rod hire €5 pp Bait and flies can be purchased. Angling is year round.
Getting started… Fly Fishing Lessons for adults and children - we’ll teach you all you need to know to enjoy a day’s fishing on the lakes. Adult 2 hour lesson €25 Junior Course (7yrs – 18yrs) 6 Saturdays 2hrs €90 Including rod, tackle and flies.
Something fishy… Kids Birthday Parties – bring your friends along to the lakes and learn to fish – maybe even bring home your catch! Bring along your own picnic or we’ll arrange one for you including a fish-shaped birthday cake! |
