The John Martyn Tribute Festival 2012

The two day festival follows on from a hugely successful one day event in 2011. Each artist will perform songs with Johns long time band of Arran Ahmun, Spencer Cozens, Alan Thomson and Martin Winnings.

The John Martyn Tribute Festival takes place in Carroll’s Market Yard, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, Saturday 15 September and Sunday 16 September. Doors open from 6pm, with a 6.30pm start on Saturday. Sunday doors open at 4pm, with a 4.30pm start. A limited amount of 1,500 tickets will go on sale this Friday 27th July via ticketmaster, Rollercoaster Records in Kilkeny and The Book Centre, Kilkenny. On Friday 14th (the evening before the festival) they will also play a one off gig in Murphy's, Thomastown.

  • Philip Donelly
  • Mick Pyro (Republic of Loose)
  • Leslie Dowdall (In Tua Nua)
  • Ultan Conlon from Galway
  • multi instrumentalist and producer The Man Whom
  • Kilkenny songbird, Deetrich (Reekus Records)
  • Waterford musician Kevin Power
  • Then Came The Wheel
  • Doug Morter with Foss Paterson, Arran Ahmun, Alan Thomson and Martin Winnings.
  • Chris Campbell
  • More acts to be announced in the coming weeks.

Last year, Glen Hansard, Paddy Casey, Iarla O’ Lionard and Mick Hanly amongst others performed at the festival which was held on John's birthday. 

With limited ticket availability it is advisable to book as soon as possible.
