Join two traditional Irish musicians on a session tour of some of Kilkenny's legendary pubs. Learn about the history of Irish music and the origins of traditional instruments.
Enjoy an unforgettable night of music and chat, songs and crack, tunes and laughter in the company of some of some of Ireland's finest musicians.


Having received an enthusiastic response last Summer from visitors and locals alike, Kilkenny's newest tourism attraction returns on Friday and Saturday nights in June, July and August promising an unforgettable evening filled with songs, tunes and stories exploring the past and present of Traditional Music in Ireland.

Over two hours, follow two professional musicians as the trail winds along the city-centre streets between a number of Kilkenny's iconic traditional public houses. At each venue the musical guides will treat you to an unrivalled music session while explaining the origins, instruments and influences of the time-honoured music tradition in Ireland.

Over the Summer months, The Kilkenny Traditional Irish Music Trail sets out from Bollard's Bar on Kieran St. at 7pm on weekend evenings. Tickets are available from Bollard's from 6.30pm on Trail nights.

Currently featuring in the legendary Rick Steve's Guide to Ireland and with many Trip Advisor reviewers recounting their happy musical experiences from last year in Kilkenny, the Traditional Music Trail is looking forward to a busy season, while continuing to endeaour to represent the very best of what Kilkenny has to offer visitors.

Public Traditional Music Trails run from 7pm-9pm throughout the Summer season although private group bookings can be made year round.
