Kilkenny Tourism Photography Competition

Kilkenny Tourism has launched a photo competition encouraging budding photographers to submit their favourite photograph of an instantly recognisable landmark in Kilkenny city or county. During August 2010, Kilkenny Tourism is inviting entrants to explore their local area and capture unique aspects of Kilkenny heritage in a photograph. The organisers want entrants to submit their most inspiring, exciting and fun-fill photographs capturing the buzz and excitement of festivals, sporting events or unique ancient landmarks.

This is an opportunity for photographers to capture Kilkenny's vibrant medieval culture and unique visitor attractions. The entries will be used to create the Kilkenny Tourism Brochure 2011.

Kevin Mahon, Chairperson of Kilkenny Tourism said, "Kilkenny city and county is a stunning and iconic place to live, providing endless photo opportunities. We all have a view of Kilkenny city and county that is unique and special to us, we are asking people to get out their cameras and show how Kilkenny city and county shine. Through the photos people can see the beauty and character of Kilkenny and that will be included in our Kilkenny Guide 2011".

Kilkenny Tourism is the county promotional, marketing and development company for tourism in Kilkenny. It consists of a voluntary board of directors who develop and implement a sustainable tourism strategy which promote Kilkenny as a quality tourist destination.

The competition will be run for the month of August and includes some great cash prizes.
